Assam: 556th Prakash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev Ji celebrated with devotion at Margherita Gurudwara
The 556th Prakash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, was celebrated with deep reverence and joy at Gurudwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha in Margherita on Wednesday, November 5.
The holy occasion drew devotees from across communities, reflecting the spirit of unity and harmony preached by Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
The day’s proceedings began with the hoisting of the Nishan Sahib, the sacred flag of the Sikh community, followed by soulful renditions of Gurbani, kirtans, and bhajans performed by Sikh women devotees. The atmosphere resonated with devotion as the congregation joined in prayer and hymns.
Following the prayers, the Langar, a traditional community meal symbolizing equality and togetherness was served to all attendees, irrespective of caste, creed, or religion.
People from various backgrounds, languages, and faiths came together at Gurudwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha to seek blessings from Guru Nanak Dev Ji for the peace, harmony, and well-being of Assam and the world.
