Assam: 8 year old boy drowns in Kopili river in Hojai

An 8-year-old boy lost his life after drowning in the Kopili River in Hojai. The incident occurred at Raikata Chandanpur in Hojai where young Jinnahul Islam tragically met his demise.

Reports indicate that Jinnahul was playing with a companion near the river when the unfortunate accident took place. Despite efforts to rescue him, the child was unable to be saved and succumbed to the water.

Local residents launched a prolonged search operation, eventually recovering the boy's lifeless body from the river. The incident has prompted a response from the Hojai police, who have arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
