The Assam unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) held a press conference this evening in Margherita, addressing the upcoming first phase of the Panchayat elections in the state.
Addressing the media, AAP’s Northeast in-charge Rajesh Sharma launched a scathing attack on the ruling BJP, accusing the government of complete failure in key sectors such as road infrastructure, healthcare, education, and employment generation.
Sharma criticised the BJP for allegedly neglecting the welfare of the common people and claimed that their promises have fallen flat across various development indicators in Assam.

Speaking at the event, AAP Assam State President Dr. Bhaben Choudhury, State Youth Wing Organising Secretary Bijay Tamang, and Zila Parishad candidate from Margherita, Charika Kachuwa, all appealed to voters to support AAP candidates by voting for the ‘broom’ symbol.
The party leaders emphasised that AAP stands for good governance and transparency, calling on the public to usher in a new era of accountability at the grassroots level.
