Assam's Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest in Dhubri, expressing outrage over the deadly terror attack at the Baisaran valley, in J&K's Pahalgam. The demonstration saw protestors burning Pakistani flags and raising slogans against the neighbouring nation.
The horrific attack in Baisaran, a popular tourist destination known as "mini Switzerland," resulted in the tragic deaths of at least 28 tourists, with many others sustaining serious injuries.
During their demonstration, ABVP members vociferously called upon the central government to take decisive action against Pakistan. Several protestors demanded another Surgical Strike, while some went as far as to demand that Pakistan be "removed from the map."
Despite the intense emotions and acts of flag burning and sloganeering, the protest remained peaceful. Local police maintained a close vigil to ensure the situation remained under control.
In the aftermath of the attack, the J&K government has already initiated a comprehensive search operation to apprehend the terrorists involved. The injured victims have been promptly moved to hospitals for treatment. Security measures have also been significantly heightened at various tourist locations throughout the region.
The brutal attack has been met with widespread condemnation across the nation, with numerous political and social organisations urging unity and demanding strong retaliatory action.
