<p>The ACP won a majority of the key posts in the students’ union election, which was held for the 2026-27 academic session.</p>

<p>Four candidates backed by the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) also emerged victorious in the election.</p>

<p>The election marked the first time that the Asom Chhatra Parishad contested the Kaliabor College students’ union election. The college has traditionally been considered an AASU stronghold.</p>

<p>The ACP's victory in its debut electoral contest has therefore been seen as a significant development in campus politics, with the AGP-affiliated student organisation managing to wrest control of the students’ union from the AASU-backed group.</p>

<p>Following the declaration of results, ACP supporters and students celebrated the victory on the college campus.</p>

<p>The outcome is also likely to provide a boost to the ACP as it seeks to expand its presence among students across Assam.</p>
