The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has decided to contest the upcoming Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) elections independently in select constituencies.
In a crucial meeting held at the AGP office in the Boko-Chaygaon constituency on March 10, party leaders deliberated on their electoral strategy.
AGP will field candidates in 12 to 15 council constituencies, while extending support to NDA candidates in the remaining seats.
The party has also expressed willingness to engage in discussions with the Rabha Hasong Joint Struggle Committee if invited.
The meeting was attended by AGP General Secretary Ramendra Narayan Kalita and Dr. Kamala Kanta Kalita, along with former MLAs Jyoti Prasad Das and Jyotish Das. Several key party leaders from South Kamrup and Goalpara districts were also present.
