Assam: Bajali erupts in festivity following Gaurav Gogoi’s appointment as APCC president

Senior Congress leader and Member of Parliament Gaurav Gogoi has been appointed as the new President of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC). His appointment has been met with widespread enthusiasm and celebration among party workers and supporters across the state.



The town of Dhumarkur in Bajali district witnessed jubilant scenes, with supporters bursting firecrackers and gathering to celebrate Gogoi’s elevation to the state party's top post. The festive atmosphere reflected the grassroots optimism around the party’s renewed leadership.



In a related development, the Congress party has also appointed three leaders—Jakir Hussain Sikdar, Rouzlina Tirkey, and Pradip Sarkar—as Working Presidents of the APCC, signifying a strategic move to strengthen organisational presence across diverse regions of Assam.



Extending his congratulations, Ismail Hussain, the newly elected President of the Kaldiya Zilla Parishad, expressed confidence in the new leadership’s ability to revive the party's grassroots connect and chart a dynamic path forward.
