Assam: Biker killed, two injured in after head-on collision on Bogibeel Bridge

A tragic road accident on the iconic Bogibeel Bridge in Dibrugarh claimed the life of a motorcyclist and left two others injured on India’s 79th Independence Day.

The accident occurred near pillar number 3 of the bridge when a Bolero vehicle collided with a motorcycle. The impact was so severe that the Bolero overturned, while the biker sustained critical injuries. He was immediately rushed to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), where doctors later declared him dead.

Two passengers traveling in the Bolero also sustained injuries and were admitted to AMCH for treatment.

Bogibeel Bridge, India’s longest rail-cum-road bridge and a vital link between the north and south banks of the Brahmaputra, witnessed the tragic incident even as the region was celebrating Independence Day.
