The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit in Barpeta celebrated the party’s landslide victory in the Delhi elections with a rally and public festivities on Saturday, February 8. Party workers gathered in large numbers to mark the occasion, distributing sweets and bursting firecrackers.
The victory celebrations took place at Paanch Ali Chowk, a central location in Barpeta town, where BJP members engaged with the public. District party leaders and workers distributed sweets among locals, emphasizing their enthusiasm over BJP’s success in Delhi. In a show of joy and solidarity, they also lit firecrackers, filling the streets with festive energy.
The event was organized under the leadership of Mahen Das, the newly appointed president of the BJP’s Barpeta district unit. More than a hundred party workers, including both senior and junior members, participated in a rally that commenced from the BJP district office. The rally moved through the streets before reaching Paanch Ali Chowk, where participants chanted slogans such as "BJP Zindabad" and "Bharat Mata Ki Jai".
Speaking at the gathering, Mahen Das highlighted BJP’s growing influence across the country, stating that the party’s victory in Delhi reaffirmed public trust in its leadership. He also expressed confidence in BJP’s continued success in upcoming elections.
