Assam BJP says NDA’s massive mandate increases responsibility towards people

Assam BJP President Dilip Saikia on May 6, said the overwhelming mandate received by the BJP-led NDA in the Assam Assembly Elections 2026 has further increased the alliance’s responsibility towards the people of Assam.

Reacting to the election results, Saikia said the support shown by voters reflects their trust in the BJP-NDA’s governance and outreach among the public.

“Given the way the BJP-NDA connected with the people and the blessings the public has bestowed upon us, our responsibility towards them has increased even further,” Saikia said.

He added that over the next five years, the government would focus on accelerating Assam’s development while also prioritising the preservation of the state’s culture, identity, and civilisation.

Saikia further said the BJP-led alliance would work to fulfil all promises made to the people during the election campaign and ensure faster implementation of developmental projects across the state.

The BJP-led NDA secured a decisive victory in Assam, with the alliance winning 102 seats in the 126-member Assembly, paving the way for a third consecutive term in power.
