BJP state president Dilip Saikia addressed a press conference in Mangaldai, focusing on the 2025-26 Union Budget and its impact on various sectors. He emphasized that the budget prioritizes poverty eradication and agriculture, benefiting people across all sections of society.
Saikia stated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty in the last ten years. He also highlighted the government’s vision of making India a developed nation by 2047 and ultimately achieving a poverty-free country.
Discussing state share funds, Saikia compared the financial allocations under Congress and BJP governments. He pointed out that during Congress’s 2013-14 budget, Assam received Rs 10,000 crore, whereas under Modi’s government, the state now receives Rs 45,000 crore.
The press conference was attended by General Secretary Padmalochan Das, Darrang District BJP President Makunda Deka, and other party members.
