Assam: Bodoland University observes National Science Day with two-day programme
Along with the rest of the country, Bodoland University observed National Science Day with a two-day programme organised by its Faculty of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Bodoland Science Congress. The celebration was held under the theme “Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat”, highlighting the importance of scientific innovation and research in nation-building.
The event featured a series of academic and co-curricular activities aimed at promoting scientific temper among students. A science exhibition showcasing innovative projects prepared by students was one of the major attractions. Poster and model competitions were also organised, providing a platform for young minds to present their ideas and creativity across various disciplines of science and technology.
The programme was formally inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. B. L. Ahuja, who highlighted the crucial role of science and innovation in shaping a progressive society. In his address, he encouraged students to actively engage in research-oriented activities and contribute meaningfully to solving real-world challenges through scientific approaches.
As part of the observance, an international seminar was conducted, bringing together academicians and experts to deliberate on emerging trends and advancements in scientific research. Prof. M. Rafikul Awal, Kerr-McGee Professor of Petroleum Engineering at Texas Tech University, attended the programme and shared his insights with participants.
The two-day celebration reaffirmed the university’s commitment to fostering a vibrant scientific culture and empowering students, particularly women, to pursue excellence in science and research.
