Assam: Book exploring Karimganj's rich history and culture, launched in Sribhumi
A new book, 'Karimganj Katha' exploring the rich history of the former Karimganj district and the current Sribhumi district, was officially launched at a special event held at the Bipin Chandra Pal Memorial Building on December 29.
Edited by Banibrata Roy, the book comprises 49 chapters detailing the district’s historical evolution, cultural vibrancy, development, and geographical changes, with an emphasis on the Kushiara, Longai, and Singla rivers.
The event was graced by Tapodhir Bhattacharjee, former Vice-Chancellor of Assam Central University, who inaugurated the book.
The ceremony was chaired by Radhika Ranjan Chakraborty, former principal of Sribhumi College, and attended by prominent journalists and literary figures.
During the launch, Banibrata Roy offered profound insights into the creation of the book and its significance in preserving the district's legacy.
