Hagrama Mohilary, the former Chief of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), has announced that the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) will contest the 2025 BTC elections independently. The declaration was made during the 7th Triennial Conference of the Kokrajhar District BPF at the Aflagaon playground, signaling a strategic shift for the party.
Mohilary urged the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) to sever its alliance with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) if it is serious about cooperating with the BPF. “If the UPPL is serious about collaborating with the BPF, they should exit the NDA alliance and the government,” Mohilary stated, emphasizing the need for united efforts to oust the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
