The Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) government organised an event focused on nature conservation titled 'Pledge for Nature', in Bodofa Nagar, Kokrajhar.
The event was held on October 2, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti and the 155th International Day of Non-Violence.
At the event, approximately 2,000 youth took a pledge to support nature conservation, underscoring the region's commitment to environmental stewardship.
In addition to the pledge ceremony, the event marked the inauguration of the Dr. Bashiram Baro Doctorate Fellowship scheme.
Notable attendees included BTC Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro, Cabinet Minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma, and the Vice-Chancellor of Bodoland University, Dr. B.L. Ahuja, along with students, community members, and representatives from various organisations.
CEM Pramod Boro highlighted the initiative as a proactive response to the global climate crisis, emphasising the critical role of the Green Bodoland Mission in combating environmental changes. The event showcased a unified effort to promote sustainability and foster a cleaner, greener future for the region.
The BTR government is dedicated to creating a green and plastic-free Bodoland, launching initiatives under the "Green Bodoland Mission."
