Assam Budget a pro-people roadmap for state's long-term growth: MP Dilip Saikia

Assam BJP President Dilip Saikia on Tuesday, July 15, said the state Budget presented on July 10 reflects the government's commitment to accelerating Assam's development over the next five years, with the objective of transforming the state into a developed Assam.

Addressing the media in Guwahati, Saikia described the Budget as a "pro-people" document and said it has been prepared under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who also holds the Finance portfolio.

He said the Budget is designed not only to address the state's immediate developmental priorities but also to provide a long-term roadmap for sustained economic and social progress during the current government’s five-year tenure.

Saikia stated that the government takes pride in the Budget as it draws substantially from the BJP's election manifesto and seeks to fulfil the commitments made to the people before the Assembly elections.

According to the Assam BJP president, the Budget focuses on translating the aspirations of the people into policy measures while addressing key issues affecting the state. He said the financial plan forms the foundation of the government's broader development agenda for the next five years.

Reiterating the BJP government's commitment to inclusive and people-centric governance, Saikia said the Budget reflects the administration's resolve to deliver on its electoral promises and drive Assam's long-term development trajectory under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
