Tensions flared at Six Mile, Jagun, under Tinsukia district in Assam, following a road accident involving a pickup van bearing the registration number AS23DC2309. The van reportedly collided with a scooty before careening into a roadside shop, causing significant damage.
In a tragic turn, the accident left 80-year-old Tap Bahadur Chettri, who was seated inside the shop at the time, critically injured. The severity of the incident ignited anger among local residents, who swiftly responded by burning tyres and blocking National Highway 315, bringing traffic to a standstill.

Authorities are currently managing the situation, but the incident has underscored growing concerns over road safety in the region.
