Assam: Class 8 student dies after falling in ditch in Pathsala

A class 8 student died after falling  mysteriously into a ditch in Pathsala near Kalighat, Assam on April 27.

 

The victim has been identified as Kunal Barman, an eighth-grade student of Christ Jyoti School in Pathsala and a resident of Sadereguri village under Bajali’s Ghatbor area.

 

According to initial reports, Kunal had ventured into the remote field early in the morning along with four friends, moving far away from the main road. The group spent a significant amount of time in the area before the accident occurred.

 

Shockingly, after the mishap, Kunal’s companions fled the scene.

 

Upon receiving information, the Pathsala Police, along with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), launched a rescue operation. The SDRF team eventually recovered Kunal’s body from the ditch.

 

Authorities have begun an investigation to determine the circumstances that led the boys deep into the secluded field, as the reasons behind their actions remain unclear and are considered suspicious.

 

The community mourns the sudden loss of a young life under such tragic and mysterious conditions.
