Assam Congress announces candidate for Salbari constituency ahead of BTR polls

The Assam Congress has announced Budhadev Phadangiri as its candidate for the upcoming Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) elections from the Salbari Assembly constituency.

Phadangiri, who is also the president of Baksa District Congress, received a warm welcome from party workers at the district Congress office in South Salbari.

Speaking to the media, Phadangiri expressed confidence of securing a decisive victory in the constituency this time.

He asserted that the Congress would run a vigorous campaign, leaving no stone unturned in its pursuit of success.

Phadangiri also outlined the electoral landscape of the Salbari constituency, stating that Congress is contesting at the first position, followed by Bodoland People's Front (BPF) at second, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at third, and United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) at fourth.

He criticised the BPF and UPPL parties sharply, highlighting his commitment to a strong campaign against his rivals.
