Assam: Congress candidate secures victory in Balajan Anchalik Panchayat in Dhubri

Congress candidate Farhana Begum has secured a commanding victory in the Balajan Anchalik Panchayat election, more than doubling the votes of her nearest competitor.

 

Begum's 3,427 votes represented a decisive mandate from local voters in the 91 Balajan Anchalik Panchayat, which falls under the 15 Rupshi Zilla Parishad in Dhubri's Gauripur constituency.

 

The BJP candidate finished second with 1,630 votes, trailing by a substantial margin of 1,797 votes. The AIUDF candidate secured third place with 1,246 votes.

 

Local officials reported robust voter turnout across polling stations throughout the panchayat, reflecting high community engagement in the democratic process.
