Assam: Congress will go extinct soon, leadership has left the party without a soul, says Ajmal

All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal on january 29 said that the Congress party is on the verge of extinction under the leadership of Bhupen Borah. Ajmal asserted that the Congress party's survival is at stake as long as Bhupen Borah remains at its helm.

Ajmal said, "There is no life left in Congress now. As long as Bhupen Borah is the president of Congress, the Congress party will be finished, and they will not have any existence."

Speaking to reporters, Ajmal expressed skepticism about various political alliances. He accused Mamata Banerjee of supporting the BJP and predicted a potential alliance between the two. Ajmal also expressed doubts about the Samajwadi Party forming an alliance with the BJP and questioned whether the Aam Aadmi Party, led by Arvind Kejriwal, would align itself with the ruling party.

"I have a 75 per cent doubt that Arvind Kejriwal will form an alliance with the BJP. The reason is that in all these parties and party heads, the ED, CID, IB—all have been influenced by the BJP," Ajmal remarked pointing to the alleged influence of investigative agencies.

Discussing the trend of politicians switching allegiances, Ajmal predicted that Congress leaders would soon join the BJP, although he refrained from naming any specific individuals. He attributed such shifts to the government's control over investigative agencies like CBI, ED, and IB.

Ajmal commented on the upcoming election in the Dhubri constituency, where Rakibul Hussain from Congress is contesting. Despite acknowledging a familial connection with Hussain, Ajmal said, "He will lose the election. We will set an understanding amongst us."
