The inauguration of the Fakiragram Model Health Center by the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) administration has sparked significant objections from the Bodo People’s Front (BPF) party. During a press conference on Friday at the BPF office in Fakiragram, Central Organizational Secretary Dr. Rezaul Karim criticized the BTC for its handling of the health initiative, stating that the center was constructed with the approval of the state government through the National Health Mission (NHM) in response to the pressing healthcare needs of the broader Fakiragram region. This initiative was originally spearheaded by BPF MLA Rabiram Narzary.
The BPF's opposition centers around the claim that the inauguration was not a genuine effort to enhance local healthcare but rather a publicity stunt. Arup Kumar Dey, a public representative from the BTR Fakiragram Constituency and an Executive Member of the BTR Health Department, voiced his discontent, suggesting that BTC Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pramod Boro was attempting to mask his administration's shortcomings. "This inauguration is merely an attempt to cover up his own failures while seeking accolades," Dey said.
