Assam: Cultural extravaganza lights up Tinsukia town as 74th Rongali Bihu cultural summit kicks off
Residents of Tinsukia town came together in a vibrant cultural procession on the occasion of the 74th Tinsukia Central Rongali Bihu Cultural Summit. The streets of Tinsukia were filled with the sounds of music, dance, and joy as participants from different ethnic groups of Assam and neighbouring state Arunachal Pradesh celebrated the rich cultural heritage of the region.
The procession commenced at Chaliha Nagar ground with the singing of three elephants, and devotees of Barekuri joined in, forming a colorful and lively spectacle. Tinsukia MLA and Labour Minister, Sanjay Kishan, also participated in the procession, extending Bihu greetings to all and offering happy Bihugeet.
The cultural troupes, representing diverse communities, showcased their traditional dances, songs, and costumes, adding to the festive atmosphere. The procession wound its way through the streets of Tinsukia, including the popular Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi road, and culminated at Bimalaprasad Chaliha Nagar ground after three corners.
The 74th Tinsukia Central Rongali Bihu Cultural Summit, which spans multiple days, will conclude on April 19 with a grand concert by popular singer Bhrigu Kasya, along with various other cultural programs.
