Assam Assembly Deputy Speaker Numal Momin launched a sharp attack on Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra over her reported remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Speaking to the media, Numal Momin condemned Moitra’s statement, calling it “shameful” and “an insult to the chair of a senior constitutional authority.” He alleged that Moitra represents a party that is “pro-Rohingya, pro-Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrator” and accused the TMC of working against Indian culture.
“We cannot expect more than this from Mahua Moitra. Their party’s main agenda is to turn West Bengal into an Islamic state. The way she has spoken against Amit Shah is highly condemnable. A case should be registered against her under the provisions of law,” Numal Momin stated.
The Deputy Speaker further accused TMC of appeasement politics, citing the party’s decisions to grant holidays for Muharram while allegedly restricting Durga Puja processions. He claimed that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her colleagues, including Moitra, were “acting against the interests of Hindus.”
Numal Momin asserted that such remarks would ultimately weaken the TMC in West Bengal. “Trinamool Congress and its leaders are scared of losing power this time. Such statements will lead to their political downfall,” he said, demanding “exemplary action” against Moitra to deter other TMC members from making similar remarks in the future.
