            <div class="clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item"><p>Assam Director General of Police (DGP) Harmeet Singh, during his two-day visit to Barak Valley, reviewed the functioning of the police in Hailakandi, Karimganj, and Cachar districts.<br>
 </p>

<p>Following the review, Singh told reporters that a comprehensive assessment of the police system and its citizen-centric initiatives has been carried out. </p>

He added that Assam has now moved away from being a state plagued by insurgency and having a police force formed only to counter it, towards a vision of serving citizens in line with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s outlook.</p>

On being asked about vacancies in the Assam Police, the DGP clarified that there are currently no vacant posts. </p>

He further said that the department is actively monitoring illegal infiltration, which is regularly highlighted in the chief minister’s updates on social media.</p>
