The students of Bholanath College (Autonomous) in Dhubri staged a protest on September 9 outside the principal’s office, pressing for immediate action on what they described as long-ignored issues.
The demonstration, led by the General Secretary of the college’s student union, drew a large crowd outside Principal Kishore Kumar Shah’s office.
The union leader alleged that despite repeated complaints, both in writing and verbally, the administration had failed to act on problems faced by the student body.
While the students did not publicly specify the grievances during the protest, the general secretary referred to “various difficulties” that had been raised multiple times with the college authorities.
As the protest grew louder, Principal Shah met the students and reportedly assured them that their concerns would be resolved. Students, however, said they would wait to see if the administration followed through with concrete measures.
Clarity on the students’ demands and the administration’s response is expected in the coming days.
