Assam: Dibrugarh administration seals firecracker warehouse over alleged licence violation

The Dibrugarh district administration has intensified its enforcement drive against the illegal storage and sale of firecrackers across the city, taking action against traders found violating licensing requirements and prescribed safety regulations.

As part of the crackdown, a team of district administration officials on Wednesday sealed a firecracker warehouse owned by trader Khagen Bania at Master Para in Notun Bazar, Dibrugarh, for allegedly storing firecrackers without a valid licence.

The inspection drive was led by Additional Commissioner Pranjal Baruah. Officials conducted checks across commercial areas to identify establishments involved in the unauthorised storage and sale of firecrackers.

The administration has initiated action against traders found operating without the necessary licences or failing to comply with the prescribed norms.

The intensified inspections are aimed at curbing unauthorised firecracker storage and ensuring compliance with safety regulations in markets across Dibrugarh city.
