Assam: Dipen Boro re-elected as ABSU president for third consecutive term

Dipen Boro has been re-elected as the Central President of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) for a third consecutive term. The decision was made during the Extended Delegate Sitting of the organization held on Tuesday at the Nileswar Brahma Auditorium in Bodoland University.

Khanindra Basumatary was elected as the new General Secretary as the ABSU also announced its fresh executive committee for the 2025–2027 term.

The extended delegate sitting was convened to complete unresolved organizational processes from the 57th Central Session, which had taken place from March 13 to 16 at Dotoma Bodofa Cultural Complex in Kokrajhar but had remained inconclusive.

Expressing deep emotion upon his re-election, Boro remarked, “Politics is not greater than the nation. From this very moment, I dedicate myself in service to the cause of nation-building,” bringing a tearful close to his address.
