Assam: Drug Inspector conducts surprise raids on unlicensed pharmacies in Nagaon’s Juria

The Drug Inspector conducted surprise inspections at several pharmacies and drug distributors across different parts of Nagaon district, uncovering alleged irregularities in the sale and distribution of medicines.

During the operation, the inspection team visited Doctors Clinic in Juria, where discrepancies were reportedly detected and a large quantity of medicines was seized for further examination.

The Drug Inspector also found that several pharmacies were allegedly operating without valid licences in different areas of Juria. However, many of the suspected unlicensed pharmacies were found closed after they reportedly received information about the impending inspection.

The Drug Inspector warned that strict action would be taken against pharmacies found operating illegally. Authorities said such establishments could be sealed if they are found functioning without the required licences.

The inspection is part of the ongoing crackdown on unauthorised pharmacies and irregularities in the distribution and sale of medicines across Nagaon district.
