Assam DSP found dead in Bongaigaon hotel, SSP suspects health issues

The body of Khargeswar Rabha, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) with the Chief Minister’s Vigilance Cell in Assam, was found in a partially decomposed state inside a hotel room in Bongaigaon on October 22. The district’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Numal Mahato said the possibility of the officer having health issues was being considered, adding that the circumstances surrounding his death would become clear after the investigation.

Rabha’s body was recovered from Room No. 102 of Hotel Jahnavi Regency, where he had checked in on October 18 during the Durga Puja holidays. The cause of death has not yet been established.

The SSP said the circumstances surrounding the recovery of the body were being investigated and that further clarity would emerge once the investigation was completed.

Rabha’s wife and other family members arrived at the hotel following the discovery. His body was subsequently sent to Bongaigaon Medical College for a post-mortem examination to help establish the cause of death.
