Assam: Elderly couple found hanging in Morigaon, police launch probe into incident

An elderly couple was found hanging in their residence under mysterious circumstances in Assam's Sidhabari under Morigaon district. 

According to preliminary reports, villagers made the shocking discovery early on Tuesday and promptly alerted the Morigaon Police. The deceased have been identified as 75-year-old Rakbor Bordoloi and his wife, Lilemai Bordoloi, both residents of the area.

Police, accompanied by senior administrative officials, rushed to the scene and initiated a preliminary investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the couple’s tragic demise. While the exact motive remains unclear, authorities are exploring all possible angles behind the extreme step.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
