Assam: Family deprived of government schemes seeks Himanta Biswa Sarma's aid

In the heart of Moamari village stands the humble abode of Champa Barman and her family of four, comprising her husband and two daughters. Their dwelling, a mere shell of a house, bears the scars of time, weathered and dilapidated. Each rainy season brings with it a harrowing ordeal, as rainwater seeps through the broken roof, casting shadows of despair upon the already impoverished family.

Despite the adversities that loom large, the government's benevolent gaze seems to elude Champa Barman and her kin. With her husband ailing and a daughter pursuing her education, Champa shoulders the burden of sustenance by peddling panipuri on bustling footpaths. It's a daily struggle, fraught with uncertainty, as she endeavors to procure funds for her husband's medical treatment and ensure her family's basic needs are met.

Hope flickers in the form of governmental assistance, yet remains elusive. Champa Barman's plea for a decent dwelling under the Arunodaya Scheme of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana falls on deaf ears. Despite reaching out to local authorities, including the President of the Kalbari Panchayat, her cries for help seem to dissipate into the ether, unanswered and unheard.

Undeterred by despair, Champa Barman now turns her gaze towards the Chief Minister, beseeching for inclusion in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. It's a plea borne out of desperation, a cry for dignity amidst the ruins of neglect. The question lingers, echoing across the vast expanse of bureaucratic indifference – when will Champa's call be heard? When will the government extend its benevolent hand to lift her family from the depths of destitution?

In the stark reality of Champa Barman's existence lies a reflection of systemic failures, where promises of progress remain hollow in the face of persistent poverty. Her tale serves as a poignant reminder, urging society to confront the inequities that persist, lest the promise of independence remain but a distant dream for those languishing on the fringes of society.
