Assam farmer generates annual income in lakhs through strawberry farming in Baksa

A farmer from Baksa district, Assam, has become self-reliant through strawberry cultivation, earning lakhs annually. Khogen Boro, a resident of Banbari village under the Mushalpur subdivision, has been successfully growing strawberries for the past five years.

This season, Boro has planted nearly 3,000 strawberry saplings and has been selling the fruit at Rs 400 per kg. His strawberries are not only sold in local markets in Baksa but also exported to nearby towns like Pathsala, Rangia, and Nalbari.

In addition to strawberries, Boro cultivates various seasonal vegetables, further boosting his income. His dedication to farming has earned him recognition as an ideal farmer in the region, inspiring others to explore alternative and profitable agricultural practices.
