A ferry named SB Senimai encountered a critical situation mid-river near Assam's Majuli on Sunday. The ferry, carrying passengers from Nimatighat on the Jorhat side to Aphalamukh ghat in Majuli developed a significant leak leading to water gushing into the vessel.

The incident unfolded around 7:30 am during the ferry's routine trip causing panic among the passengers onboard. With approximately 80 passengers along with 26 motorcycles and four four-wheeled vehicles the situation demanded swift action to prevent potential tragedy.

Thankfully, rescue efforts promptly commenced with authorities deploying another ferry to evacuate all passengers from the sinking vessel. The response was quick and efficient, ensuring the safety of everyone involved.
