Assam: Five injured as night bus overturns near Rajapara in Boko
A night bus traveling from Mankachar to Guwahati met with a road accident in the early hours of Tuesday, October 7 near Rajapara in Boko. The vehicle, bearing registration number AS 01 FC 0401, reportedly lost control before skidding off the road and overturning along the roadside.
According to initial reports, the bus was carrying around 40 passengers at the time of the incident. Five individuals sustained injuries in the mishap and were immediately rescued by Boko Police, who arrived promptly at the scene. The injured were taken to Boko Primary Health Centre for medical attention.
The injured passengers have been identified as Muzhuhur Rahman (19), Ayub Nadir (39), Chanduara Begum (45), Jahangir Alam (28), and Javed Islam (18).
Among them, Chanduara Begum, aged 45, has been referred to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for advanced treatment due to the severity of her injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, though preliminary findings suggest the driver may have lost control of the bus due to slippery road conditions in the early morning hours.
