Assam: Former MLA Emmanuel Mosahary quits BJP, alleges party of 'ignoring' him
Senior politician and former MLA from Assam Emmanuel Mosahary quit the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on October 8, alleging the saffron party of ignoring him.
Speaking at a press conference in Tamulpur press club, the former MLA from Tamulpur constituency, said, "After much deliberation and thought, I have decided to tender my resignation from BJP. I had joined BJP on November 22, 2020. I was actively working for the party and its consecutive elections, basically, the Council election and MLA election, where I rendered my services at the grassroot level. Even my colleagues and party members worked during the elections for the party's success. Unfortunately, me and neither any of my colleagues given our due recognition even at the state level. Hence, whatever may have happened, I think, basically in the BTC region, BPF is a better option as a regional party. It is only through BPF we will be ale to render our services for the people's welfare. Thus, saying all this, I would like to tender my resignation from BJP".
Emmanuel Mosahary had joined the BJP in November 2020, prior to the Assembly elections in Assam.
Mosahary hinted on joining Hagrama Mohilary-led Bodoland People's Front (BPF) as he mentioned that the party truly works for the BTC region and thus is best as a regional party.
