In a shocking incident from Sapanmari in Borghuli, under the jurisdiction of Uluwani Police Station in Kaliabor, Assam, four persons have been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of a 8-year-old girl on September 8.
According to police sources, the case was registered as FIR No. 51/25 under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Investigations revealed that a 14-year-old boy allegedly committed a heinous act against his 8-year-old younger sister and later murdered her and buried the body at the backyard of their house.
Following this revelation, Uluwani police arrested the juvenile accused along with his father, Waz Uddin, his mother, Farida Khatun, and his grandmother, Khushiman Nessa, for their suspected involvement and negligence in the matter.
The disturbing nature of the crime has sent shockwaves across the region, raising concerns over child safety and the role of guardians in preventing such incidents. Authorities have assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted, and strict legal action will follow.
