Assam: Giant 1 kg hailstone falls from sky in Bilasipara, residents astonished

Residents of Bilasipara, Assam, were left in awe as a colossal hailstone, weighing a staggering 1 kilogram, descended from the heavens during a tumultuous spell of rain and thunderstorms. The incident left locals baffled, marking the first recorded instance of such an extraordinary phenomenon in the region.

The state of Assam has been besieged by heavy rains and thunderstorms, with nearly all districts grappling with inclement weather conditions. Reports indicate that the Bilasipara in Dhubri district and Kokrajhar  were particularly impacted experiencing prolonged bouts of hail and precipitation.

In the Falakata region, eyewitnesses described the hailstorm resembling rocks plummeting from the sky, creating a scene reminiscent of a meteorological upheaval.
