Assam girl Priyanka Das Rajkakati accompanies French President on India visit

In a proud moment for the Northeast, Assam girl Priyanka Das Rajkakati was seen as part of the delegation that accompanied French President Emannuel Macron during his current visit to India.

Priyanka, who hails from Assam's Dhemaji, is an artist and aerospace engineer based in Paris. Priyanka was seen along with the French delegation which accompanied the French President. In a video that has gone viral, Priyanka can be heard speaking to the French delegates in fluent French during their visit in Delhi.

Noteworthy is that this is not her first tryst with French President Macron and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Earlier in 2023, Priyanka was among the 250 invited guests when French President Emmanuel Macron hosted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for dinner at the iconic Louvre museum in Paris during the latter's two-day visit to the country.

In November last year, Priyanka again grabbed headlines as she was selected to be a tema of 80 women scientists who travelled to Antarctica and spent 19 nights there. Her sponsors for this once-in-a-lifetime trip were Assam Tourism and the Government of Assam.

During the trip, Priyanka also carried with her Assam's pride, traditional Gamosa, to Antarctica and in the process became the first Assamese woman to land in the cold frigid continent.
