In the No-Basti area of Assam's Kaliabor, authorities have apprehended a grocery shopkeeper amid accusations of harassment involving a minor on May 25. This case falls under the jurisdiction of Bagori Outpost, part of Jakhalabandha Police Station.
The suspect, Hiren Banik, is alleged to have harassed a 14-year-old girl within his shop. Quick action by police led to his arrest following the report.

A legal case, numbered 52/25, has been lodged against Banik. The charges include breaching Sections 74/75(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, alongside Section 8 of the POCSO Act.
Upon complaint receipt, officers from Bagori Outpost acted swiftly, resulting in Banik's immediate detention.
