Assam: Hailstorm causes severe damage in Orang

A severe hailstorm struck Amtal Bhergaon near Orang causing significant damage to the area. The village with numerous houses destroyed and trees uprooted.

 Shaheed Dwijen Bhuyan High English School also suffered extensive damage, particularly to one of its classrooms. Many families have been left homeless as a result of the storm.

Local residents are calling for urgent action from divisional authorities to address the aftermath of the disaster. One resident expressed the widespread devastation, emphasizing the urgent need for assistance: "Our school has been severely damaged, with classrooms destroyed and roofs torn away. Many trees and houses have also been affected, leaving us homeless. Given our village's existing struggles with poverty, recovery will be challenging. We urge the government to provide assistance and donations to help us rebuild and return to normalcy."
