‘Assam has become a second home for me’: Jeet Adani

Adani Group Director Jeet Adani on Sunday, September 20 said the group’s social initiatives in Assam would focus on strengthening education, healthcare, livelihoods and skill development, while underlining the Adani Foundation’s relief efforts during the state’s recent floods.

Addressing the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the 3,200 MW Ultra Super Critical Thermal Power Plant in Chapar, Adani said his association with Assam extended beyond business and was rooted in his engagement with local communities.

“My connection with Assam isn't just about work; it comes straight from the heart,” Jeet Adani said, adding that the state had become a “second home” for him.

He said the Adani Foundation had been working with communities across Assam and had stepped up relief operations during the recent floods in Sivasagar and Dhemaji, including reaching remote villages affected by the deluge.

“For me, this wasn’t just a relief operation; it was our responsibility to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our people in their difficult times,” he said.

Adani also outlined the foundation’s ongoing community-focused initiatives in Kamrup, where it is working in areas including education, healthcare, livelihood generation and skill development.

He said the objective was to support grassroots development and bring tangible improvements to the daily lives of people in the region.

The foundation stone-laying ceremony for the 3,200 MW Ultra Super Critical Thermal Power Plant marks a major development in Assam’s power infrastructure, with the project expected to add to the state’s electricity generation capacity.
