Assam: Himanta Biswa Sarma exudes confidence in 11.5 seats in 2024 Lok Sabha elections

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma asserted that in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, the BJP is confident in 11 and a half seats.

"In Assam, 11.5 seats belong to BJP rest remaining 2.5 seats whoever wants to share, we don't have any say," said Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Slamming the opposition parties' call for supreme sacrifice to defeat the saffron party, Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the people of Assam need development and progress not sacrifices, as sacrifice is a personal agenda.

Further, CM Sarma in the upcoming election there will be a completion between AIUDF and Congress among the 2.5 seats, hence it's normal for both parties to hit each other and one day they will again unite.

"It is not required for BJP to enter between bothers (Congress-AIUDF) fight...today they are fighting but tomorrow what is the guarantee they won't unite...following the Lok Sabha election results, Delhi will say because of lack of alliance between AIUDF-Congress they lost the election again they will unite in 2026," said Sarma.
