Allegations have been made against Gokul Barman, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Kamtapur Autonomous Council (KAC), regarding the salaries of personal assistants, drivers, and class IV employees.
Barman is accused of orchestrating a major scam by embezzling funds in the name of various individuals through the arrangement of fake employees.
A list containing 20 employees allegedly including many fake names has also come to light.
Speaking to the media one of the employees who is employed as a driver in the KAC said, "We have been working in the KAC from the beginning and have been paid Rs 5000 every month from the office fund, however, now our names are missing from the list of the state government prepared for salary distribution."

Further, the employee claimed that some of the names on the list do not exist in reality and the people who have been working for years are missing from the list.
This is not the first time the CEM of KAC have come to light of controversy, following allegations levied against Gokul Barman, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Kamtapur Autonomous Council (KAC), accusing him of assaulting a woman constable of Assam Police, calls for an inquiry has emerged.
Reportedly, Gokul Barman, who is married, faced accusations of involvement in an altercation with a woman constable employed in Dibrugarh, with whom he allegedly shares an illicit relationship. The constable, hailing from Boitamari in Bongaigaon district, purportedly required hospitalization in Dibrugarh following the incident.
Responding to these allegations, Gokul Barman took to social media platforms to refute any association with the reported incident. Conversely, Hiteshwar Barman, the President of the Kamtapur Autonomous Council, called for a formal investigation into the matter after media reports implicated Gokul Barman in the assault.
