Assam: Karimganj hosts 'Bharat Mata Puja' amid hopes of reunification with lost territories
For the past 10 years, Karimganj district in Assam has been the epicenter of a significant cultural and religious event—the Bharat Mata Puja. Held annually on August 14, this puja is not just a spiritual observance but also a powerful expression of patriotism and hope for the restoration of India's territorial integrity.
The event draws significance on the deep-seated belief that regions such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and others, will eventually be reintegrated into the country.

Bharat Mata, often revered as a manifestation of Goddess Durga, symbolizes the motherland. In Karimganj, this puja is performed with great reverence and grandeur.
The organizers emphasize that the ritual is more than just a religious ceremony—it’s a call for unity and the reclamation of India's lost lands.
Organizers believe that such events reinforce the nation's spirit and serve as a reminder of the cultural and historical ties that bind these regions to India.
