A major police operation in central Kokrajhar led to the seizure of around 10 kilograms of beef from four hotels along Masjid Road. Acting on a tip-off, authorities raided Muslim Hotel, Amir Hotel, Alif Hotel, and Dadaji Hotel—establishments allegedly involved in selling beef for an extended period. The raid was led by Additional Superintendent of Police Navanita Sharma.
According to sources, the proprietor of Muslim Hotel, Rezzakul Islam alias Bachchu, is currently absconding. The other hotel owners have been identified as Amir Hussain (Amir Hotel), Mofiz Ali (Alif Hotel), and Majnur Rahman (Dadaji Hotel).
Following the raid, four individuals were detained and brought to the Kokrajhar Sadar Police Station for interrogation in connection with the case.
Kokrajhar Police sources confirmed that this is part of a broader crackdown. Similar raids were conducted in Fakiragram and Joypur areas as well.
In a separate operation in Fakiragram, police seized both cooked and raw beef—around 10 kilograms—from Islam Hotel, located near the railway gate. The hotel owner, Aijul Haque, was detained by Fakiragram police for further questioning.
