Assam: Large pothole on newly opened Kaliabor Tiniali flyover raises safety concerns

A large pothole has developed on the newly opened Kaliabor Tiniali flyover in Assam, raising concerns over the safety of commuters using the route.

The flyover was opened to traffic after its construction was completed following nearly 12 years of work. However, a large pothole has now appeared in the middle of the flyover, posing a potential risk to motorists.

A local resident, concerned about the possibility of accidents, tied a red cloth around the spot to alert motorists approaching the pothole.

The resident also expressed anger against Ganapati, the contractor involved in the construction of the flyover, over the condition of the newly opened structure.

Motorists travelling from Guwahati and Nagaon towards Jorhat and Sivasagar have been urged to exercise caution while crossing the flyover.

The development has also raised concerns among locals over the condition and construction quality of the newly completed flyover.
