Assam: Late-night storm batters Morigaon; woman killed by tin sheet

A devastating storm swept through the Morigaon district late last night, causing widespread destruction across multiple locations on June 11. 

The storm disrupted transportation, damaged homes, and claimed at least one life.

Strong winds uprooted trees, blocked roads, and ripped tin roofs off numerous houses, leaving several families displaced.

Tragically, a woman named Lakhpati Rajbhor died after being struck by a flying tin sheet, believed to have been torn off by the storm. 

Her residence is located in Mela Ati village under the Morigaon district. A video of the deceased woman has surfaced, confirming the extent of the tragedy.

Local authorities are assessing the damage, and relief efforts are expected to follow in the affected areas.
