A 24-year-old woman from Ledo, under Margherita constituency no. 83, has gone missing after leaving for Dibrugarh University to collect her post-graduation results. The incident has sparked concern, especially as it follows the recent uproar over the disappearance of three other young girls from the area.
The missing woman, identified as Baby Kumari Prasad, daughter of Ravinderendra Prasad of Archerji Basti village, left Ledo by train on Monday morning (February 24). According to her family, she last made contact at 3:00 p.m., informing them that she was waiting for a train at Dibrugarh Banipur station. However, by 5:45 p.m., when her family attempted to reach her again, her phone was found switched off.
Worried about her safety, the family lodged an FIR at Ledo Police Station after failing to trace her whereabouts. The police have launched an investigation into the matter.
Local residents have expressed growing concern over the recent disappearances of young women from the region, urging authorities to take swift action.
The family has appealed to anyone with information regarding Baby Kumari Prasad’s whereabouts to contact the nearest police station or call 839999711.
