Assam: Ledo Xakha Xahitya Xabha honours Rana Jyoti Neog for outstanding contributions

Ledo Xakha Xahitya Xabha held a felicitation ceremony on Wednesday to recognise Rana Jyoti Neog, who was recently awarded the "Best Organiser" title by the Asom Sahitya Sabha at Pathshala.

Neog, the vice-president of Ledo Xakha Xahitya Xabha, has played a crucial role in leading the organisation since 2003. His contributions to Assamese literature, art, and culture have earned him widespread appreciation. More than 30 organizations and individuals participated in the event to honour his achievements.

The ceremony, hosted at the Ledo Xakha Xahitya Xabha office, was presided over by its president, Dr Ranjit Dutta. Distinguished guests included Dr Kripa Prasad Upadhyay, principal of Ledo College, Phulmai Phukan, principal of Ledo Junior College, veteran journalist Jagat Changmai, eminent poet and litterateur of Ledo, and representatives from various organizations such as the Margherita Journalists Association, Tai Ahom Yuba Parishad (TAYPA), All Assam Bhojpuri Parishad, and All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union.

Neog was presented with traditional Assamese honours, including a phoolam gamusa, xapi, xarai, dhaka topi, and khaada, along with other tokens of appreciation.

Expressing gratitude, Neog stated that he has been actively involved with the organisation for 22 years and remains committed to the promotion and development of Assamese literature, art, and culture.

In a significant recognition, Ledo Xakha Xahitya Xabha was also awarded the "Best Branch" title by the Asom Sahitya Sabha at Patshala, marking a milestone for the organisation.
